  2. Dropper in the Shape of 
  3. a Bird
  4. Hsuan-te period (A.D. 1426-
  5. 1435)
  6. Ming Dynasty
  7.         This dropper in the 
  8. shape  of a  male mandarin 
  9. duck  is hollow inside and 
  10. has  a  round  hole in the 
  11. back.    It  incorporates a 
  12. flat-topped  dropper  spout 
  13. with  a  round  head,  the 
  14. small hole in which controls 
  15. the water dripping on to 
  16. the  inkstone.     It  is 
  17. painted  throughout  with 
  18. plumage  and  ripple motifs 
  19. in fresh,  rich  blue-and-
  20. white, and bears the Hsuan-
  21. te reign mark.
